Whether you participate in an affiliate program or an exchange program, ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ semester abroad/away students:

• Remain enrolled at ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ while abroad*
• Pay ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ tuition*
• Pay room and board to host institution or affiliate provider, not to ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½
• Remain eligible for applicable financial aid* and scholarships
• Receive support from a CGE Education Abroad advisor
• Work with ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ to review and approve courses before departure
• Earn transfer credit toward their ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ degree after successful course completion and pre-approval
• Complete required ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ study abroad procedures and deadlines
• Are responsible for obtaining a valid passport and any required visa, with guidance from CGE, the host university, and the appropriate consulate or embassy
• Are responsible for housing, meals, travel, visa fees, insurance, personal expenses, and other program-specific costs as applicable

Students are encouraged to attend an information session & meet with an Education Abroad Advisor at least one semester prior to their desired term abroad/away to discuss program options, finances, academic planning, application requirements, and deadlines.

*Does not apply to a summer or winter term abroad/away.

Through exchange programs, ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ students are nominated to study as visiting international students at one of ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½â€™s partner universities, offering a rewarding and affordable option for those seeking a more independent and immersive experience abroad.

Exchange programs may be a good fit if you:

• Want a more independent experience
• Are comfortable navigating a host university abroad
• Want to be more fully integrated into the local university community
• Are flexible with course availability and scheduling
• Are prepared to manage more logistics independently

Some host universities may require visiting international students to take courses in the host language, and English-language course availability may be limited. Students should research course options carefully and work with CGE and their academic advisor to determine whether an exchange program is a good academic fit.

Want to study abroad at ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½? ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ admits non-degree seeking Exchange Students and Visiting Scholars (Short Term J-Visa) who are interested in studying abroad at ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ for a semester or an entire academic year from the following schools:

Inbound undergraduate and graduate students must be nominated by partner institutions under the provisions of specific contractual agreements. Students interested in studying at ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ from these institutions should work with their university’s international student exchange office for more information. Deadline for application for the fall semester is March 31 and for the spring semester is August 31 of the previous year.

Affiliate programs are administered by approved study abroad organizations or partner providers. These programs often offer a more structured experience and may include study abroad, internships abroad, or combined study + internship opportunities.

• Are interested in planned excursions or cultural activities

Affordability

Program costs and included services vary. Students should review each affiliate program carefully to understand what is included and what additional expenses may apply. ÐÔÊÀ½ç´«Ã½ will pay up to $10,000 toward the provider's spring or fall semester educational tuition-based expenses (excluding winter and summer terms). This excludes housing, meals, and expenses that are not educational tuition-based fees. If the program's costs are in excess of $10,000, students will be billed directly from the program provider and must pay the difference.
